Classes
Shaman
- Elemental Overload has been reworked: Lightning Bolt, Lava Burst, and Chain Lightning casts have a 17.5% chance to trigger a second free cast on the same target that deals 75% of the original spell's damage. (3 second minimum ICD.)
- Shaman now learn Elemental Blast at level 10. It deals Elemental damage and increases critical strike or haste by 5%, or spell damage and healing by 8%, for 8 seconds. Damage is based on a combination of Intellect and Spell Power. Balance is ongoing.
- Maelstrom Weapon and Stormkeeper now also affect Elemental Blast.
- Elemental Reach now increases the range of Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Elemental Blast, Fire Nova, and Lava Burst by 5/10 yards, up from 3/6.
- Lightning Shield now has 10 charges, up from 3.
- Fire Nova now triggers on targets affected by Flame Shock, causing each marked enemy to emit a wave of fire that damages every other enemy within 10 yards. It has been removed from the GCD. Lower-rank mana costs have been reduced to match higher ranks, and the spell-power coefficient has been slightly lowered to accommodate multiple marked targets.
- Call of Thunder now also allows Lightning Shield to regenerate 3% mana every 5 seconds while active.
- Searing Totem has reverted to hitting one target.
- Molten Cleave damage is now based on weapon-percent damage, with range extended to 10 yards.
- Removed the outdoors-only requirement from the Ghost Wolf tooltip.
- Improved the Gust of Wind visual.
- Chain Healing Wave was removed as a passive. Other Lava Burst and Lightning Bolt passives are now built into those spells.
- Rank 1 Lava Burst's level scaling and spell-power contribution have been slightly reduced.
- Astral Recall cooldown reduced to 10 minutes.
- Added the minor Glyph of Rapid Healing Wave: Lesser Healing Wave casts instantly and costs 50% less, but has an 8-second cooldown.
- Shamanistic Focus now also increases expertise by 6 and reduces physical damage taken by 10%.
- Elemental Blast deals 25% more damage to targets above 70% health.
- Magma Totem duration increased to 1 minute.
- Fire Nova now has a 16-second cooldown. Improved Fire Nova lowers it by 1/2 seconds.
- Improved Fire Nova also increases Fire Nova damage by an additional 2.5/5% (13%/25%).
- Stormkeeper was replaced with Improved Elemental Mastery.
Druid
- Cat Swipe now costs 15 less energy.
- Rip damage is applied immediately through an extra initial tick.
- Rank 8 Rip is now available at level 70 rather than 71.
- Tiger's Fury has been reduced to one rank and now grants a baseline 15% increased damage. Duration increased by 2 seconds. It is now usable in Bear and Dire Bear Form.
Mage
- Fire Blast has been removed from the GCD, is castable while casting, always critically strikes, and has a 14-second cooldown. Its spell bonus multiplier was slightly reduced.
- Netherwind Presence was removed as a passive.
- Ice Lance is now available at levels 60 and 70, down from 66 and 72. Its spell bonus multiplier was slightly increased.
- Icicle stacks should occur more often. The spell was cleaned up and is now greyed out until usable.
- Touch of the Magi was reworked.
- Arcane Blast now heals the caster for 15% of damage done. Lower ranks from levels 1-54 are now available.
- The level 71 Arcane Blast rank is now level 70.
- Arcane Barrage deals 50% increased damage to targets below 35% health.
- Mage Armor and Glyph of Mage Armor were improved.
Priest
- Seraphic Burn's Gravity Well should no longer pull invalid units. Its duration, periodic timing, cast time, and cooldown were adjusted. It can no longer critically strike, its spell-power coefficients changed, damage is split evenly among enemies, and it can only be applied to one target at a time.
- Surge of Light now also affects Holy Fire and increases the instant cast's damage by 25%.
- Shadowfiend logic was improved.
- Holy Consecration should now correctly proc from Smite.
- Holy Fire duration increased by 1 second. Its direct-damage spell-power coefficient was greatly increased and its periodic bonus slightly increased. Cast time increased by 0.5 seconds. Holy Fire also refreshes Seraphic Burn on the target.
- Penance spreads the Holy Fire damage-over-time effect to nearby targets and increases its stacks on the primary target.
- Glyph of Penance now also increases Penance damage by 10%.
- Power Infusion is now baseline at level 40. Casting it removes Shadowform, and it is removed if the player enters Shadowform. Other casters may still use Power Infusion on a player in Shadowform.
- Penance has taken Power Infusion's previous talent-tree position.
- Added the Discipline talent Purifying Light: Penance dispels one harmful spell from a friendly target or one beneficial spell from an enemy.
- Inner Focus now has two charges.
- The damage-component spell-power coefficients of Holy Nova and Penance were increased.
Hunter
- Fixed the Frost Trap visual.
- Steady Shot is now a free cast.
- Disengage now leaps backward, clears movement-impairing effects, and increases movement speed by 50% for 5 seconds.
- The level 62 Steady Shot rank is now available at level 60.
- Rank 6 Aimed Shot and Ranks 8 and 9 Arcane Shot received slight base-damage increases.
Warrior
- Raging Blow rage gains reduced to 4, down from 5, with slightly reduced damage.
- Deep Wounds damage reduced to 15%/30%/45%, down from 16%/32%/48%.
- Glyph of Thunder Clap now also increases Thunder Clap threat by 25%.
- Bloodsurge now procs from Mortal Strike instead of Bloodthirst after moving to the Arms tree.
- Improved Thunder Clap deals an additional 10%/20%/30% of its damage over 6 seconds.
- Shield Mastery also causes Shield Block to reduce magic damage taken by 10%/20%.
- Glyph of Devastate now also increases Devastate critical strike chance by 5%.
- Glyph of Blocking was renamed Glyph of Shield Slam and also increases Shield Slam damage by 5%.
- Fixed a Colossus Smash bug.
- Lightning and Thunder's periodic damage now scales with attack power.
- Last Stand is now baseline at level 45, with duration reduced by 5 seconds.
- Lightning and Thunder has taken Last Stand's talent position.
- Added the 51-point Protection talent Unbreakable Will: a fatal attack instead sets health to 10% and grants an absorb shield equal to 35% maximum health for 8 seconds. When it expires or breaks, the warrior heals for 50% maximum health over 5 seconds. Three-minute internal cooldown.
- Fixed the Execute tooltip.
- Heroic Leap range increased by 10 yards.
Warlock
- Incinerate is now trainable at level 60.
- Burning Rush speed reduced to 40%.
- Fel Armor is now available at level 60.
- Searing Pain is now castable while moving.
- Added a tank-oriented Tier 2.5 set. The AQ20 set was likewise restatted for tanking.
Paladin
- Righteous Combatant's maximum offhand damage benefit reduced to 20%, down from 25%.
- Guardian of Light no longer casts Avenging Wrath on the paladin. It instead grants Divine Plea and increases Holy Power by 150 and attack power by 80. Guardian and buff duration changed to 25 seconds. Hammer of Wrath is cast less frequently but deals more overall damage. Legendary trinket strength was reduced.
- Glyph of Light's Celerity increases Flash of Light healing by 35%, down from 40%.
- Avenger's Shield cooldown reduced to 15 seconds, down from 30.
- Shield of Righteousness has a 20% chance to reset Avenger's Shield.
- Added the level 60 ability Intercession: restore a fallen ally with 1,000 health and mana, then regenerate an additional 3% health and mana every second for 12 seconds.
Death Knight
- Rune of the Fallen Crusader is now available at level 60.
Heritage Horizons
- Portable Anvil and Portable Forge cooldowns reduced to 10 minutes, down from 60.
- Horde Vanguard cooldown reduced by 10 seconds.
- Fixed Hardiness.
Professions
- New Blacksmithing recipes are available from Blacksmithing Supplies vendors in Stormwind and Orgrimmar.
- New Jewelcrafting recipes are available from the Master of Molten Mysteries outside Molten Core.
- Additional level-50-range Jewelcrafting recipes were added to various vendors.
- Added a new shield enchant at Timbermaw Hold.
Bots
Hiring
- Hired bots may now start with basic gear appropriate for their level. Main-hand and off-hand logic is not yet implemented. Bot hiring costs may need adjustment to prevent abuse.
Consumables
- Drinking a flask causes grouped bots to drink an appropriate preassigned flask for that expansion level.
- Spell-group stacking rules now apply to bots, preventing multiple food buffs, flask buffs, and similar effects from stacking incorrectly.
Abilities
- Lightning Overload was removed from shaman bots because Gift of the Gathering Storm and the custom Lightning Overload implementation caused double benefits.
- Gift of the Gathering Storm was added to Elemental Shaman bots.
- Arms Warrior bots now use Execute.
- Hunter bots should cast Serpent Sting more reliably.
- Hired bots are retained for 14 days and dismissed if the owner does not log in. The timer resets automatically on login.
Bot Miscellaneous
- The bot teleport visual was changed to the login effect to reduce client stutter.
Systems and Miscellaneous
- Challenge Mode stat penalties were removed.
- Small experience gains were added to skill-ups.
- Unique Armor and Unique Weapons restrictions were replaced with Unique-Equip.
- Level Exchange in the Rewards Menu was disabled pending fixes.
- Added Leave Combat and Unbanish spells.
- Added a new Blacksmithing tank shield enchant with +20 defense rating and 180 armor, available through the Dark Iron dwarves.
- Added a new Primal Fusion recipe for Primal Nether.
Dungeons and Raids
- Stratholme: Reduced Ramstein's Hellfire damage.
- Scholomance: Slightly reduced Ras Frostwhisper's Ice Tomb periodic damage and health.
- Lower Blackrock Spire: Endgame cast time increased by 1 second.
- Upper Blackrock Spire: Mobs above Pyroguard Emberseer are much less likely to pull.
- Blackwing Lair: Nefarian has a new mechanic. Firemaw should no longer pull unexpectedly from above during trash.
- Hyjal: Various abilities now also target bots.
- The Stockade: Added boss loot.
- Outland world bosses Kazzak and Doomwalker now drop two Badges of Glory.
- Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep, and Zul'Aman bosses now drop Badges of Glory.
- Black Temple, Sunwell, and Heroic Magisters' Terrace bosses now drop Badges of Courage.
- Normal Magisters' Terrace bosses now drop Badges of Glory.
- The Illidan encounter no longer causes client or server crashes from unchecked auras.
Models and Sounds
- Fixed remaining incorrect CreatureDisplayInfoExtra entries.
- Added a configurable dressed NPC through creature_outfits.
- Updated the Broken race.
- Fixed several footstep sounds.
Individual Progression
- Zul'Aman is now accessible after completing Tier 5 rather than Black Temple.
- Zul'Gurub becomes available after completing The Hand of Rastakhan questline.
- Gruul is the required kill for progression beyond Tier 4.
- These Zul'Aman and Zul'Gurub changes account for catch-up raids being less relevant in a single-player progression environment.
- Additional Naxxramas 40 fixes are included beyond the stock Individual Progression module.
Quests
- Outland daily heroic quests now reward two Badges of Glory.
- Additional Death Knight starting-zone fixes were attempted.
Races
- Applied fixes for Eredar, Lightforged, and Draenei skins. The Draenei female underwear change is temporary.
- Broken characters have new models.
- Void Elves have a new eye option.
Badge Vendors
- TBC Badges of Justice were split into three tiers: Badge of Justice for Tier 4, Badge of Glory for Tier 5, and Badge of Courage for Tier 6.
- Vendor inventories were adjusted for the new badge tiers.
- Shattered Sun Supplies can grant a Badge of Courage instead of a Badge of Justice.
- Four new Shaman totems are available from the Badge of Justice vendor. Three reproduce former tier-set bonuses, while one is a novelty option. Additional trinkets were also added.
- Emblem transfer now includes TBC badges.
World Buffs
- Various world buffs were reduced.
Items and Item Sets
- Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 2.5 set-bonus requirements were reduced from 3/5/8 to 2/4/6, and from 3/5 to 2/4 respectively.
- Rogue Tier 1 four-piece was reworked and swapped with the six-piece bonus.
- Mage Tier 3 two-piece and four-piece bonuses were reworked.
- Protection Warrior Tier 8 four-piece was reworked.
- Added DPS Warrior Tier 2.5 and Tier 3 sets.
- Buffed Paladin Tier 1 Lawbringer bonuses.
- Redistributed some Strength into Stamina on Retribution Paladin and DPS Warrior Tier 1 and Tier 2 sets.
- Rebalanced Retribution Paladin Tier 4-Tier 6 stats and improved bonuses. Some former bonuses became relics.
- Added Retribution and Protection Paladin Tier 2.5 and Tier 3 sets.
- Retribution Paladin Tier 2 six-piece no longer reduces Hammer of Wrath cooldown.
- Restoration Shaman Tier 3 bonuses and stats were rearranged and partially reworked.
- Reworked Elemental Shaman Tier 4 two-piece and Tier 5 two/four-piece bonuses. Previous spell IDs were moved to purchasable totem relics.
- Buffed Elemental Shaman Tier 4 four-piece and improved Tier 6 four-piece.
- Reduced Enhancement Tier 2 bonuses and adjusted stats across Enhancement Tier 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6.
- Added Enhancement and Elemental Shaman Tier 2.5 sets, plus Elemental Shaman Tier 3.
- Adjusted Restoration Shaman Tier 2.5 stats and bonus.
- Improved Paladin legendary NPC AI and Priest legendary NPC AI; bot priests now benefit from the legendary.
- Added items to various vendors, including hidden vendors, and a new ring to Paris Hilton.
- Improved Hunter Tier 1 through Tier 6 bonuses, with Tier 3-Tier 6 stat adjustments.
- Stat Boost now supports more stat types. Maximum bonuses for Vanilla raid content were slightly reduced, with lower rolls more likely.
- Removed base resistances from level 60 and 70 sets. Resistances are now randomized or may not appear.
- Eye of the Dead now uses a shared 30-second category cooldown.
- Titanic Breastplate meta sockets were changed to blue sockets.
- Reduced Death Knight Tier 2.5 two-piece.
- Improved Warlock Tier 1, 2, 2.5, 3, 5, and 6.
- Added the Shaman PvP set to the Alliance vendor.
- Added Shadow/Smite Priest Tier 2.5 and Tier 3 sets.
Final Improvements
- Improved graveyard logic again and removed the spectral gryphon.
- Burning Weapons now have a proper 25-second internal cooldown.
- Added numerous performance optimizations.
- Lava now deals 50% more damage.
- Spell Power and Attack Power can no longer be reforged.
- Raid markers are removed when leaving combat in the open world.
- Added Pet Start, Keep Out, and anti-cheat modules.
- Added a configuration option that converts Bind-on-Pickup items requiring level 1 or higher to account-bound items while enabled. The change reverts when disabled.
- Added loot to various Vanilla dungeons and raids.
- Bot Smoke Flare now ignores line of sight.
- Improved several Blackwing Lair class trinkets.
- Added an additional endgame Attunement system.
- Added a Weekend Experience system.
- Added a new login screen and logo.
